Young Member Blue PPO

The Young Member Blue PPO plan is designed especially for our single members between the ages of 19 and 30 who want affordable coverage for major health services. Spouses and dependents are excluded from coverage on the Young Member Blue PPO plan.

The Young Member Blue PPO plan has a $1,000 deductible you will need to meet before services will be covered. Once your deductible is met, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) will pay 70% for most in-network services, or 50% for most out-of-network services. You would pay the remaining 30% in-network or 50% out-of-network as your copayment. The maximum you'll pay in copayments for in-network covered services is $2,500 per year. At that point, BCBSM will pay 100% of your covered benefits for general in-network services for the remainder of that calendar year.

The Young Member Blue PPO plan does not cover office visits, preventative services, routine exams, prescription drugs or maternity care.

Blue Preferred PPO network

When you belong to our Young Member Blue PPO plan, you'll have an entire network of more than 16,000 Blue Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) physicians and more than 140 hospitals in Michigan available to you to get the best benefits at the best price. The network also extends nationwide for those who travel out of state. Most services are also covered if you choose to use a provider who is not in the PPO network, however, you will be responsible for higher copayments, and some services may not be covered.
